Thani Residence stands on Setthakit Road in Ban Suan, a settled working part of Mueang Chon Buri where local businesses, medical facilities, markets and everyday dining are all close at hand. Central Chon Buri is a short drive, the industrial estates are reachable before a morning shift starts, and the coast at Bangsaen is an easy outing rather than an expedition.
We deliberately do not publish minute-by-minute travel times. Traffic in this part of the province swings widely between the school run, the shift change and a quiet Sunday, and a number on a page would only mislead you.

Shopping and everyday errands
The province's main shopping centre and the shortest route to almost anything practical: a full supermarket, pharmacies, phone and laptop repair counters, a cinema and a food hall large enough to satisfy a family that cannot agree. Guests arriving late in the afternoon often go straight there, deal with the week's shopping and eat before coming back, which turns two errands into one trip. It is within driving distance of the residence, and the parking is free.

Medical appointments and family visits
A significant number of our guests are here because somebody they love is in care, or because an appointment needs an early start and a calm night beforehand. The hospital is accessible from the property, and the residence has quietly organised itself around that reality: a front desk that is awake at five in the morning, parking you do not have to negotiate, and staff who will call a taxi and explain the destination in Thai without being asked twice.

Evening food and browsing
An open-air evening market of food stalls, clothing and household goods that comes alive once the heat drops. It is the cheapest and most honest introduction to how Ban Suan actually eats, and it is easy to graze your way through a dozen stalls for the price of one restaurant dish. Ask at reception which nights draw the biggest crowds, because the difference between a quiet Tuesday and a packed weekend is considerable.
Bangsaen Beach
The nearest coast
The stretch of seafront that Thai families drive down for at weekends, lined with deckchairs, seafood stalls and a long flat promenade that is pleasant to walk at either end of the day. Going on a weekday morning gives you a much emptier beach and a much easier drive, and you can be back at the residence before the worst of the afternoon heat. It sits within driving distance along the coast road.

Onward travel by rail
Useful mainly for guests continuing north or south by train rather than by van or bus. The station is modest and the timetable is limited, so it pays to confirm departures the day before rather than turning up hopeful. The front desk can help you read the schedule, write down the platform, and work out what time you actually need to leave the building.

Golf in the wider province
One of the courses in the wider Chon Buri area and within driving distance of the residence, which makes an early tee time realistic without staying out at the course itself. Guests who play tend to book two or three nights here, drive out in the morning and come back to the cafe in the evening, using the free parking as the base for the whole trip.

A longer established course
A long-established course accessible from the property by road, set in the hills behind the coast. It draws groups travelling together, which is usually when our Standard Twin rooms fill up, and the front desk is happy to arrange very early breakfast for anybody with a dawn start.
Arriving by car, van, bus or train
Most guests arrive by car or pickup, which is the simplest option: come in off Setthakit Road, park inside the property at no charge, and check in at a desk that is staffed whatever the hour. Motorbikes park under cover near the entrance within sight of reception. There is no shuttle service and no airport transfer, so if you are flying into Bangkok or U-Tapao you will want a van, a bus or a private car for the last leg.
Guests coming by public transport usually take a van or bus into Chon Buri and finish the journey by taxi or ride-hailing app, which is short and inexpensive. Rail is possible through Chon Buri railway station, though the timetable is thin enough that it rewards checking in advance. Whichever way you come, tell us roughly when to expect you and the key will be ready when you walk in.
